Twitter admitted yesterday to an embarrassing security blunder, revealing that a bug has caused the platform to store user passwords in unmasked form.
Without getting too technical, a glitch exposed some passwords in plain text on its internal network. Whilst the social network said following an internal investigation that it had found no indication that passwords had been misused or stolen (and its important to note that this was not a security breach with an actual leak of data), it has still urged all users to change passwords "out of an abundance of caution."
So best take Twitter's advice and change your password(s).
